How has the singles life changed in UK over the last 100 years?

Nowadays, people are waiting to get married until they reach 30 if they get married at all. According to the statistics, many of the people that get married eventually get a divorce. Women usually live longer than man and at the end of life they end up being single again. After divorce many people from UK want to get remarried but not right away. Being single is not a bad thing when you are living in UK.

Not that there is a dearth of singles events in UK, there are tons.

Many people from England want to stay single as much as they can because in this way they can pursue their interests, their passions, they can do anything they want without anyone else checking on them and nowadays they don't need someone to help them pursue the important things in their lives, like money for example. In the past, women needed a man to support them financially and they sometimes were paid less than man on the same job in order to keep the things this way. In the past everyone said that wives should stay at home, raise the kids and prepare a hot meal for their husband and that men should work and bring money home. In these days every married couple works hard together, usually people in England hire a babysitter to take care of their child, women follow their career and many times they have bigger salary than men do.

Baby Technology

With today's technology women can have a baby without getting married and they don't have to be married in order to be able to buy a house. The single people, in the past, couldn't buy a house until they got married and they couldn't travel alone. These days people from all over the world travel alone and they love to be single. The advantages of being single these days is that you can do anything that is important and meaningful for you and you can live happily without thinking if your wife or husband will disapprove. In the late 50's people used to think that there is only one way of living your life, the standard way. You stay home with your parents until you reach 18, after that you move to a new house, find someone,get married have kids, have a couple of friends that do the same thing as you do, have grandchildren and that's about it. Now, peoples' lives are very different, they live a more fluid life, they follow their careers, if they want to stay single, no one disagrees, they can live happy with or without another person staying with them. People now can cohabitate with someone or can stay with a couple of friends in a big house, they can do anything they want. Some people are still thinking that if they follow the standard path, they can be a better person then those that don't follow it. They can be a better person by doing what they want, when they want, with anyone they want. This is the way a singles life is in these days.
