1. My little Pony
These toys were produced by Hasbro in the 90s and were targeting young girls from 6 to 13 years old.
The original pony was a pink one but after they seen the success that they had with that one
they started producing different color ones and made them collectable. The pony was what every little girl
dreamed about.
2. Barbie
The Barbie doll was first invented in 1959 by Ruth Handler. She was a business
woman that got her inspiration from the German doll named Bild Lilli. Every little girl wanted to have
a Barbie. Barbie is a collectible doll with friends a boyfriend Ken, different types of houses and
cars.
3. Hot Wheels
The first Hot Wheels car was invented in 1968 and was a dark blue Chevrolet Camaro. The brand
was invented by Elliot Handler the co-founder of Mattel and was designed by Harry Bentley Bradley.
This started as an every little boys dream but soon this became a collectable toy for older
men.
4. Furby
Furby was a robot toy invented by Dave Hampton and Caleb Chung. This toy was sold in 1998 in 1.8
million copies and was a "must-have" those days. By 2000 the Furby was sold over 40 million units
worldwide and the voice was translated in 24 languages.
5. The Rubik's Cube
The Rubik's Cube was invented by Erno Rubik in 1974 a Hungarian sculptor and was
originally called the "Magic Cube". This Cube was sold in millions of copies in the whole world and these
days is still one of the most challenging games that kids play.
6. Thomas the Train
Thomas the train was a cartoon TV Series movie that appeared on TV in the late 90s. After the
producers saw the potential of the movie, they started writing books and producing toys that were sold in UK
in the numbers of millions. Kids play with Thomas the Train and his friends these days but not like they have
in the 90s.
7. Monopoly
The Monopoly game was produced by Hasbro and entered in the Guinness Book in 1999
with over 500 million people having played Monopoly. The Monopoly Game was a redesign of the original game
called "The Landlord's Game" published by "Quaker".
8. Tamagotchi
Tamagotchi was originally invented in Japan by Akihiro Yokoi member of WiZ Co. Ltd. and it was a
little animal housed in an egg-shaped house with three buttons A.B.C that allows the owner to perform
different actions to the computer pet. They have sold more than 70,000,000 copies of the Tamagotchy
worldwide.
9. Twister
The twister Game was played on a plastic mat that was spread on the floor. This was
the only game that used people that played it as the games playing pieces. This game is still played every
day by teenagers in England and all over the world.
10. YO-YO
The first YO-YO was invented in the year 500 BC and it was made from terra cotta
disks. In the 90s the yo-yo was made from plastic disks or wooden disks. Kids are still playing with yo-yos
these days and some people are collecting them.
